Movement on the national roads is not at alll smooth, primarily in southern Moldova, from Căușeni to Ștefan Vodă, where the police stopped a number of heavy trucks that weren’t appropriately outfitted for winter. In the southern districts, it rained mostly and ice appeared on the roads.

Alexandru Morgoci, head of the Operative Service of the State Road Administration, has told IPN that 15 heavy trucks got stuck on this segment and only three of them were equipped for winter. If these units of transport had continued their way, they could have caused accidents.

After midday, traffic on the Căușeni-Ștefan Vodă road will be restored.

Problems last night were also experienced on the Chisinau-Leușeni road, but they were solved.

The roads in northern and central Moldova are being cleared of snow and antiskid materials are being spread there. Snore removal works were also performed at night, but it snowed uninterruptedly and the efforts were hampered.
