The National Reunification Party ACASA (HOME) was launched in Moldova on Wednesday. According to its members, the purpose of the party is to establish a Romanian political pole that will unite under one tricolor all those with a Romanian heart.
A statement adopted on March 24, which was read by the party’s chairman Valentin Dolganiuc in a press conference hosted by IPN, says that during the years of independence “Moldova continued to gravitate within Moscow’s orbit”, the citizens emigrated and the Bessarabian space was considerably depopulated, the situation worsening in all regards. According to the authors of the declaration, the destruction of the national liberation and Romanian revival movement by Russian services was the worst thing that happened in 1992. The restoration of the national liberation movement is needed as it is the only force that can resist the imperial restoration plans.
“Many veterans of the national liberation and Romanian revival movement, together with a group of members of the first Parliament who voted for independence from the Russian empire, university professors, businesspeople, veterans of the 1992 war, farmers, students and others decided to establish the National Reunification Party ACASA,” stated Valentin Dolganiuc.
According to him, the party’s goal is not to venture into electoral battles, but to create a strong Romanian pole made up of political and civic entities, representing the 40% segment of those who identify themselves as Romanians. The party also wants a sincere dialogue with the political class in Bucharest regarding the “return of Bessarabia home”. “We want to find out the plan for reunifying the Romanian national territory. We don’t believe in stories of unification within the European Union,” said the signatories of the statement.
Valentin Dolganiuc stated that national reunification is possible only if everything that is Romanian is included in a Euro-Unionist Convention, which will offer a chance to the 35%-45% supporters of national reunification by contending in the parliamentary elections on a single national list. He called on all the political and civic entities to strengthen the Romanian segment and join it under a single tricolor.
Alexandru Arseni, a member of the new party’s Political Council, said that the party’s members take responsibility and call on everyone to join into one force not in order to build a hierarchy, but for the people to see that they are represented in a single movement, which is the National Reunification Party ACASĂ.
Zoia Jalbă, a member of the party’s Political Council, noted that the EU does not aim to unite peoples within it. The EU welcomes those who are already determined, have a purpose and know what to do. The peoples go with their culture and spirituality. Therefore, the union with Romania should be in the foreground. In this connection, she urged those with Romanian hearts to come together again, as they did in the late 1980s, and restore the national revival movement.
Political pundit Anatol Țăranu, as an independent adviser to the National Reunification Party, said that he opposed the creation of this party given the people’s reservation about the formation of new political parties. By the end, the party’s leaders convinced him that there was no other way out. Unfortunately, party egoism is so strong in society, including in the unionist segment, that it was impossible to bring the unionist forces together and this led to the appearance of this party.
Party member Pintilie Pîrvan called on all those who feel they are Romanians to join this unionist pole. According to him, visits will be made to localities to discuss with all the people.
