Songs about the national renaissance movement will be sung in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau on the National Language Day marked on August 31. The head of the Chisinau Culture Division Lucia Culev has told IPN that the national renaissance songs will be sung by national artists for the first time in the last 20 years. Homage will be thus rendered to personalities who struggled for the national values.
According to Lucia Culev, this year the festive program will include a recital by master Eugen Doga and soloist of the Moscow Bolshoi Theater Andrei Jilihovschi.
The cultural events in Chisinau will start at 10.00 with laying of flowers at the monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy. Officials will then deliver speeches and a music and poetry recital will be given in the central garden of Chisinau. The exhibition “Library “Alba Iulia” – 15 years of identity and image in the community” will be opened at the “Alba-Iulia” Library at 11.00.
At 12.00, the 22nd International Book Fair will be inaugurated at the National Library, while at 15.00 a plastic arts exhibition-contest staged by the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova will be opened at the Exhibitions Center “Constantin Brancusi”.
The evening concert will involve the Orchestra “Lautarii” conducted by Nicolae Botgros and soloists Ion Paladi, Cristi Botgros, Lidia Bejenaru, Nicolae Cibotaru, Ioana Capraru, Nicoale and Isidor Glib, Lucia Bejenari, Anisoara Dabija, and others.
Afterward, recitals will be given by Cristi Aldea-Teodorovici, Anastasia Lazariuc, Catalin Josan, Iurie Sadovnic, Nina Crulicovschi, Gheorghe Topa, Ricu Voda, Anatol Dumitras, Lidia Botezatu, Radu Dolgan and the Romanian band “Mandinga”.
