National register to store information on all creative industries actors

An online national register will store information on all actors in the cultural and creative industries sector - government institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations and individual entrepreneurs. The initiative is part of a project for the digital transformation of the cultural and creative industries supported by UNESCO.

The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture, Andrei Chistol, stated that this project is in line with the concept of the National Creative Industries Development Program "Creative Moldova" and will further boost the development of the field.

“The project will develop digital skills in the cultural sector, especially for employees in the field. Because we know that the people here are hardworking, but they need additional investments, which will help them increase their potential", said Alma Megan Slipicevic, project manager at the UNESCO Regional Office for Science and Culture Europe.

Ana-Luiza Muravschi, advisor at the Ministry of Culture, said that "creative industries in the Republic of Moldova have a great potential for growth and can be an engine for the country's economic development, social cohesion and the national brand. Development policies and projects are a priority for the Ministry of Culture. We understand that a strategic and sustainable approach is needed, initiated through projects like this and public policies dedicated to the creative industries".

The "Digital Transformation of Cultural and Creative Industries in the Republic of Moldova" project has a budget of over 70 thousand dollars, is financed by the Trust Fund for the Development of Creative Industries UNESCO, by the Republic of Korea and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Artcor.
