National producers will be given priority in public procurement process
The institutions that will make purchases with public money will have to examine first of all the offers of the national producers, in accordance with a Government Decision. According to Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc, the executive approved a list of 43 types of products, mainly food products, that must be given priority, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We will change the relation between the imported products and the goods made in Moldova. The ratio of imported products to national products in the public procurement system is now 60:40,” the minister said.
According to Valeriu Cosarciuc, the decision benefits the national producers and the public institutions because the Moldovan products are cheaper.
The largest quantities of food products and other supplies are purchased by the subdivisions of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior. The public institutions yearly acquire food products to the value of over 400 million lei.
