National producers could have own market in Chisinau

A market could be set up in Chisinau that will sell only products made inside the country. The proposal was submitted by Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca at Monday's meeting of the Chisinau services and divisions, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the mayor, 43 markets sell imported agricultural produces in Chisinau at present. There should be founded a market where the national companies could sell their products and the buyers will be sure that they purchase fruit and vegetables grown in Moldova, the mayor said. The chief architect of Chisinau Vlad Modarca said there are two plots in Chisinau on which such a market could be located. Vladimir Nirca, the head of the Trade and Services Division, welcomed the idea of creating a market for national producers, but suggested that the local authorities should have the right to coordinate the prices there. He said that the traders at fires do not pay taxes for the goods sold at prices that are identical with those on the market. Dorin Chirtoaca instructed formulating a legislative framework for such commercial units.
