The measures aimed at protecting the children whose parents work abroad that will be taken by the state and the community are described in a national program that was approved by the Government on May 31. The program was finalized after all the ministries presented proposals for making the parents more responsible and ensuring the observance of the children's rights, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said a network of social assistance services will be developed at community level to provide assistance to the families in difficulty so as to prevent the separation of the children from their parents. There will be also developed professional parent assistance services. An automated information system will be created to protect the family and the child. Psychologists will work in all the schools and remand centers for minors. Under the program, a campaign will be conducted to inform the children about sexually transmitted diseases, dependence on alcohol and drugs. The students will be stimulated to take part in community life, volunteering activities, sports and artistic groups, etc. The program envisions the creation of the National Agency for relations with persons native of Moldova. There will be also launched awareness raising campaigns on the importance of providing support to the children who remained without parental care. “This plan should cover all the Moldovan children, regardless of the reasons why they remained without parental care,” Premier Vlad Filat said after the program was approved.
