National Philharmonic launches project “In unison with friends”

The National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” invites all the music lovers to the launch of a new project entitled ”In unison with friends”. The event will take place in the Philharmonic’s Big Hall on September 11. The concert is free of charge, IPN reports.

The first concert of this project involves famous pianist Ashot Khachatourian, who is the soloist of the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel of Belgium. In Chisinau, Ashot Khachatourian will perform concert No. 3 for piano and orchestra by Beethoven. In the second part, the Symphonic Orchestra of the National Philharmonic will perform the Swan Lakes Ballet Suite by Tchaikovsky. The concert will be directed by the Orchestra’s first conductor and artistic director, Master of Arts Mihail Agafita.

The Philharmonic’s artistic director Marian Starcea has told IPN that the project “In unison with friends” will be implemented during the 2015-2016 anniversary season, when it is celebrated the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the National Philharmonic. The next concert of the project will be given next week and will involve violinists Ionel Manciu and Sanda Cononov.
