National Palace will be named “Nicolae Sulac”
The National Palace in Chisinau will bear the name of the redoubtable folk singer Nicolae Sulac, who is a people’s artist and holder of the Order of the Republic. A decision to this effect was taken by the Government on May 23, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In his 67 years of life, Nicolae Sulac sang the joys and sorrows of his people. Many of his songs are well-known and loved by the public.
Minister of Culture Boris Focsa said that Master Nicolae Sulac remained a legend in the Moldovan folklore. He left a rich spiritual inheritance. The name of Nicolae Sulac is also borne by a national contest-festival for young folk singers and by the music school in Floresti and a Chisinau high school.
