An international exhibition entitled “Beyond Photograph”, which is devoted to contemporary photography of Moldovan and Romanian photographs and artists, was mounted at the National Museum of Arts of Moldova, IPN reports.
The exhibition presents the generation of artists who work with documentary and conceptual photography. The works center on social, political, ecological and culturological aspects of society over the past 30 years in the country and the world. It shows different aspects of the contemporary world, such as the modern cultural changes and provocations, the impact of the media and technology on our perception of the reality, exploitation of personal identity and the relationship with the world around us, drawing attention to different sociocultural, economic and political issues. The exhibit covers also experiments with the media format of the photograph.
The authors will present the works in the kind of analog and digital photographs, NFTa, digital collages, works based on photographic archives, circulating photographs in the form of artist books and publications.
While the exhibit will continue, a collective library will work for educational purposes to present photo books from personal libraries of participants. Each Tuesday and Friday, between 4pm and 6pm, the victors will be able to meet with the curator and exhibitors and to pose questions on issues of interest.
The exhibition “Beyond Photograph” forms part of the Nomadic Arts Research Bureau project that is financed by the Government of Switzerland.
