A paintings and graphics exhibition entitled “Petal Rain”, signed by plastic artists Antonina and Vitalie Grishchuk, was inaugurated at the National Library of Moldova. It includes about 30 works done in different technics of visual arts, such as oil on canvas, aquarelle, nib, ink, engravings on paper. The works feature rural motifs and aspects of the architecture of old Chisinau, IPN reports.
National Library director Elena Pintilei said the exhibition contains nice works full of color that will delight the librarians and visitors, especially in the current conditions, when the people lack communication, in particular with the world of beauty. “When coming to the National Library to work, we communicate with our colleagues, with visitors and with your art that is very nice and that I think we will discover daily. I believe everyone will find something close in a parental yard, in a parental home, on the old streets of Chisinau or in these beautiful flowers we had or still have in the yard of the parental home,” stated Elena Pintilei.
Vitalie Grishchuk noted that it is nice to return after years to the National Library where he not only once stood in a line for books. “Here, at our exhibition, we present mainly motifs of the old city, Bessarabian villages and flowers, in different techniques, as, being two artists, we each see things differently,” stated the plastic artist. As to the paintings showing the old city, he said these show buildings that now look differently or no longer exist. The paintings depict a part of history so that the contemporaries see how Chisinau looked earlier.
The exhibition can be visited until December 1, 2020, at the National Library of Moldova situated at 78, 31 August 1989 St, in the central block, the exhibitions area on the second floor.
