In connection with the International Day of Peace, which is marked annually on September 21, the National Library of the Republic of Moldova presents a collection of documents as part of an exhibition entitled “Plenary Peace to the Entire Planet”. The exhibition focuses on strengthening the ideals of peace within all nations and peoples of the world, IPN reports.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Declaration and Program of Action on a Culture of Peace. The exhibition conveys a universal message that any people, in whatever language they speak, wants peace and identifies the common values, principles and aspirations of all peoples for peacekeeping.
“The exhibition praises peaceful life, condemns the horrors of wars and calls on humanity to fight for peace around the world. It is structured around five divisions: international cooperation for peace and security; war and peace in the contemporary era; the theme of peace and war in literary works; ode to peace and the cultivation of a culture of peace,” said the National Library.
The exhibition can be visited until October 14 in the exhibitions space in the central block, second floor, 78A, 31 August 1989 St.
