An exhibition occasioned by the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine was mounted at the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The exhibition promotes the bilateral relations between the two countries during the 30 years of Independence and familiarizes the visitors and users of the library with documents that were donated by the Odessa National Scientific Library and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova and also from the collections of the National Library of the Republic of Moldova.

There were exhibited over 130 documents that present Ukraine’s history, heritage, folklore, language, Moldovan-Ukrainian ethnic and cultural ties, regional cooperation and good neighborly relations between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. These include monographs, dictionaries, albums and periodicals.

The exhibition can be visited in the central block of the National Library, at 78 A, 31 August 1989 St in Chisinau, until May 12.

In 1992, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine signed a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations and this took effect the same year. Also in 1992, the two countries signed the Treaty of Good Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation that lays the basis of cooperation between the two independent states.
