Students of the International Relations Faculties of a number of universities on April 3 attended a public lecture on the benefits of the Moldova – EU Association Agreement that was staged by the Pro-European Services and Communication Center of the National Library, IPN reports.

Elena Pintilei, director general of the National Library, said the implementation of the Association Agreement is a topical subject given that Moldova is on the way of enshrining the European course in the Constitution. “This makes us update the information we possess and to present it at different events. This way we achieve the state policies and also an objective of the National Library: information of the population,” she stated.

According to the director, the European integration subject is present practically in all the activities of the National Library. “We permanently study European policies so as to reorient our activity to the young generation, which is out future,” said Elena Pintilei.

Ex-deputy minister of foreign affairs and European integration Iulian Groza, director of the Institute for European Policies and Reforms, also spoke about the benefits of the Association Agreement. He said that this Agreement, during ten years of the signing, enables the signatory country to rise to the level of a state that can tend to negotiate the entry into the EU. The Association Agreement, which includes the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, aims to ensure the political and economic association of Moldova. It lays out the commitments assumed by the signatory state as regards the rule of law and functioning of public institutions. For Moldova, the Agreement means modernization of the county and decent living conditions for the people.
