The national men’s handball team of Moldova didn’t manage to qualify for the play-offs of the 2023 World Championship, IPN reports.
The team trained by Nicolai Gumeniuc lost the two matches played in Cluj-Napoca against Israel (31-42) and against Romania (23-33). Moldova scored only one technical victory against the team of Cyprus, which withdrew after experiencing a number of cases of COVID-19 in the team.
In the matches against Israel and Romania, Roman Dodica scored 17 goals. Valentin Ivanchenko and Dinu Untu were also among the scorers. In the encounter with Romania, goalkeeper Andrei Mitrofan also managed to score.
