Moldova beat Switzerland 4-1 in the first match of the qualifying competition of the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup, IPN reports.
Evangelos Marcoyannakis opened the score in the fourth minute, while Sergiu Tacot tied 15 seconds before the end of the first half. Moldova became more active at the start of the second half and scored three goals during only five minutes, through Cristian Obadă, Constantin Nița and Andrei Negara.
“We didn’t have the best game in our history, but I’m satisfied with the attitude of my team,” said the coach of the Moldovan team Vladimir Vusatîi.
At 7pm on April 7, Moldova meets Estonia, which lost to Greece 2-5.
