The goals scored by Lașcu, Nicolaichuk and Negara didn’t enable the national futsal team of Moldova to achieve a positive result in the encounter with the similar team of Azerbaijan, which takes the 11th spot in the world rankings, IPN reports.
Azerbaijan defeated Moldova 5-3 after leading by 3-0 at a certain moment. In the last minute, Lașcu was sent off and will not play the next match.
On April 9, Moldova plays Greece away, while on April 13 it meets Slovakia at home. If it wins two victories, Moldova will qualify for the first time for the finals of the UEFA Futsal Euro 2022.
“We will do our best to make history. It won’t be easy as we will have renowned opponents,” Moldova manager Vladimir Vusatyi told a news conference.
