After scoring victories against San Marino and Montenegro, the national football team of Moldova will meet Lithuania in a friendly in Chisinau on November 18, IPN reports.
The match against Lithuania may be the last for Ion Caras as coach of the national team. “My contract expires at this yearend. We agreed with the Moldovan Football Federation’s administration to hold a round of talks. If they make me an offer and I’m satisfied with the conditions of the new contract, I will continue to hold the post,” Ion Caras stated for IPN.
Moldova and Lithuania have so far met seven times. Moldova beat it in 2000 and 2006, while Lithuania won in 2002 and 2008. Another three encounters between them ended in a draw.
Moldova is the 96th in the FIFA rankings, while Lithuania takes the 103rd position.
