The national football team of Moldova had to wait for one year and ten months to celebrate a new victory. After playing 18 unsuccessful matches, the ‘tricolors’ beat Andorra 1-0 in a friendly played in Malta, IPN reports.
The only goal was scored by fullback Igor Armas in overtime. The game played at the Hibernians stadium in Paola was the 200th in the history of the national team and took place the day when the president of the Moldovan Football Federation Pavel Cebanu scored 61 years.
“This victory is very important for the team’s moods. It’s hard to play against teams that are preoccupied with the defensive phase. I am satisfied with the training session in Malta,” Moldova manager Igor Dobrovolski told a news conference.
