The national football team of Moldova in the evening of September 8 plays the first match within the UEFA Nations League that offers the chance to qualify for the 2020 European Championship, IPN reports.
Moldova meets away Luxemburg. The game starts at 9:45pm.
“The Nations League will be an interesting competition. Practically all the teams are equal in our group,” Moldova manager Alexandru Spiridon told a news conference.
“We know that Luxemburg has grown considerably, but we will struggle for victory,” stated the captain of the national football team of Moldova Alexandru Epureanu.
Moldova’s lineup will not include Artur Ioniță, who was suspended, Eugeniu Cebotaru and Alexandru Boiciuc, who were injured, and Vitalie Damașcan, who was summoned to join the Under-21 team. On September 11, Moldova plays Belarus in Chișinău, starting at 9:45pm.
