Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said the national economy recovered from the economic crisis, Info-Prim Neo reports. Most of the sectors of the national economy returned to a normal state, Valeriu Lazar told a news conference on Monday, commenting on the statistical data about the economic development in the first half of the year. The minister said that significant results were achieved compared with the first half of 2008, when the crisis started. Exports rose by 36.7%, internal trade by 23.9%, while agricultural production by 18.8%. But there are sectors that have not yet fully recovered. The recovery in the transport sector for example was only 48.4 compared with 2008. The investments in fixed capital have only 78.3% recovered, while the industrial output – 87.3%. The Gross Domestic Product over six months grew by 7.5% compared with the corresponding period last year. Together with the growth of 5.6% recorded in the first half of 2010, this year the GDP increased by 4.6% compared with January-June 2008 (in 2009 the GDP fell by 7.8%). According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the economic growth started to slowly influence the size of salaries, while the unemployment rate is deceasing. Valeriu Lazar said the projected annual growth of 4% will be reviewed after the consultations with the IMF Mission. It may be raised to 6 -7%. He stated the GDP growth for 2012 remains yet at the forecast level of 5%.
