The National Medical Diagnosis Center has a new clinical laboratory outfitted with last-generation equipment that allows making accurate diagnoses of diseases. The lab is connected to other labs form abroad, IPN reports.
In the inaugural ceremony on November 11, Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi said this lab will become a center of coordination and training for medical personnel. The equipment is connected to an integrated information system to which family doctors from districts also have access. “The National Diagnosis Center provides access to medical services of the highest quality to everyone,” he stated.
There was also presented a gamma camera, which is the only one of its kind in Moldova. Combined with a computerized topographer, it allows to more accurately diagnose different diseases and to examine the skeleton for cancer metastases.
Attending the event, the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat, who supported the project, said that alongside education, the health sector represents an absolute priority not only for the PLDM, but also for the whole country. “This lab equipped with advanced technology for diagnosing diseases is another example that we can do good things in our country,” he stated.
The cost of the project is 34 million lei. The money was allocated from the budget of the National Medical Diagnosis Center and from the development fund of the National Health Insurance Company.
