National Bank staff learn to apply IFRS
The staff at the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will attend, starting from today, a workshop at which they will be trained on how to apply the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in their activities. The IFRS will be effective from 2012, the NBM said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The trainees will learn complex approaches to applying financial instruments, classifying and measuring them, categories of financial assets, the effective rate interest method, assets under custody.
The workshop, which will end on March 9, is moderated by bank consultant Susan Thetford of the US Department of the Treasury's Technical Assistance Office. The event will end with an evaluation.
