The National Bank of Moldova succeeded in accomplishing the forecasts regarding the increase in the foreign exchange reserves – up to the level of USD 700 mln by the end of 2006. According to the data available on November 24, the foreign currency deposits of the central bank amounted to USD 694.44 mln. From November 3 to November 24, the foreign exchange reserves increased by USD 31 mln. In case this pace will be maintained in December, the foreign currency deposits will top USD 700 mln by the end of the year. From January 1 to November 24, 2006, the foreign exchange reserves increased by almost USD 97 mln, and during 2000-2006, these reserves increased almost 4-fold.
