The bibliographical book “Hope and destiny of a chronicler. Nicolae Roibu – prose writer, publicist” was launched at the National Library of Moldova on February 28. The collection signed by bibliographer Maria Sargun was issued in 20 copies and contains over 5,000 bibliographical writings, IPN reports.
Besides bibliographical writings, the book also includes 15 book titles signed by the author and information about the publications, reviews, interviews, audio-video electronic resources, etc. The National Book Chamber, the National Library and the Drochia Public Library will get by one copy of the book.
Elena Pintilei, director of the National Library of Moldova, said Nicolae Roibu is the chronicler of the national culture, who should be documented. The bibliographical book has an exhaustive content and covers the period from the literary debut of the protagonist, from 1977, until 2017, interpreting the literary creation and professional activity of Nicolae Roibu as well as the journalistic and prose books and his work as an editor and reporter.
Academician Mihai Cimpoi said Nicolae Roibu has worked in an area that requires courage and swiftness and he has these qualities. “He is a man of culture, a man of the house, who knows well the cultural life,” stated Mihai Cimpoi.
Also today, there was launched the prose and journalistic volume “Right to your name” written by Nicolae Roibu.
Nicolae Roibu was born in Mindic village of Drochia village on January 5, 1958. In 1980, he graduated from the State University of Moldova, the Faculty of Journalists. He worked for a number of media outlets. He started his career as an editor at Radio Moldova (1980-1990) and then worked for the journal “Voice of the Nation” (1990-1997) and the national dailies Flux (1997-2001) and Timpul (2001-2013). Since July 2013, he has served as a reporter at the state information agency Moldpres. He is a member of the Writers Union of Moldova and the Writers Union of Romania.
