About 300 Moldovan military men are involved in training and military-patriotic education activities as part of a large-scale exercise going under the codename ECOU-2008, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Gen. Ion Coropcean, National Army Commander, the main goals of the exercise is to train soldiers in marching in mixed columns, test the operability of the military technical resources, promote the image of the National Army in the society and boost the soldiers’ morale. Military men from southern, northern and central Moldova will cover together a 900km-long itinerary. The first military exercise under the codename ECOU (Echo), involving the National Army’s military personnel and vehicles, took place in 2007. This year the exercise will be conducted during February 21-23.
