Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman on April 4 goes to Moscow to meet with her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. In a news conference in Chisinau, Natalia Gherman said the Moldovan authorities plead for continuing the dialogue in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, based on the well-known positions.
“The message I will transmit to my Russian counterpart, concerning the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Moldova, will be the same as the one delivered in Washington, Brussels and elsewhere. There is no difference as regards the approach. This principled position is supported by the international partners and allies,” stated Natalia Gherman.
She also said that after a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Sergey Lavrov said they are for maintaining the current 5+2 format of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks and for offering Transnistria a status as a component part of Moldova.
