Natalia Gherman: Moldova remains firmly committed to do reforms

“Moldova remains firmly committed to do reforms and implement the European agenda,” acting Prime Minister Natalia Gherman said in a meeting with the European Parliament’s co-Rapporteur for Moldova Petras Auštrevičius, who is in Chisinau on a visit, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Natalia Gherman said the priorities of the Moldovan authorities continue to include the justice sector reform, the fight against corruption and ensuring of security of the financial-banking sector. Special attention is provided to the cooperation with the EU in the area of energy security and interconnection of transport networks.

In connection with the first anniversary of the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU by Moldova’s Parliament, the officials discussed the results achieved in the implementation of this accord. Natalia Gherman said the 2015 legislative plan for fulfilling the commitments assumed through this accord, which was approved by the Government, will contribute to synchronizing the agendas of the Government and Parliament and to higher productivity in implementing the agreement.

The acting Prime Minister welcomed the launch of the Project of Annual Cooperation between the Parliament of Moldova and the European Parliament, which is to be implemented this year. The project envisions the provision of assistance to Moldova’s Parliament in adjusting the national legislation to the European one and support for the active participation of women in political life in Moldova.
