Natalia Gherman discussed Transnistrian conflict settlement in Kyiv

In the working meeting paid to Kyiv, acting Prime Minister Natalia Gherman had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin. The two devoted special attention to the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and underlined the necessity of continuing the negotiations in the 5+2 format, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the interlocutors discussed topical subjects from the agenda of the Moldovan-Ukrainian relations, pleading for continuing to promote the bilateral political dialogue at different levels, developing cooperation in the commercial-economic, energy and cultural-humanitarian  sectors and fully realizing the cooperation potential of the two counties, including by implementing joint projects in particular areas.

The two officials stressed the need to intensify the negotiations to regulate the ownership relations, to finish the process of demarking the border between the two countries and to protect the River Nistru Basin. They also highlighted the importance of continuing the efforts to peacefully resolve the dispute in eastern Ukraine, based on the Minsk agreements.
