President Maia Sandu proposed ex-minister of finance Natalia Gavrilița for Prime Minister. The announcement was made in a press briefing in the evening of January 27, IPN reports.
President Sandu said Natalia Gavrilița is a professional whom she trusts and who is upright and responsible. “I entrusted Missis Gavrilița with the task of forming the governmental team and of preparing a government program centering on economic development and clearing of state institutions of corruption,” stated the official.
Maia Sandu noted she continues to believe that the snap parliamentary elections are the only way for breaking the political deadlock. “The citizens must be able to elect the MPs and a responsible majority should be formed in the next Parliament to work in the interests of the citizens,” she said.
According to President Sandu, now the parliamentary groups will be able to show if they really want snap parliamentary elections or they cheat and try to set traps.
