Names of candidates for BCC vacancies known
The parliamentary commission for culture, education, research, mass media, youth and sport will soon publish the list of the 27 contenders for the three posts of member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC). The decision was taken after debates held during the March 16 meeting of the Council, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The proposal to publish the list on the Parliament’s website was submitted by the commission’s deputy head Alexandr Petkov, who said that all the actions and decisions of the commission must be transparent.
Another deputy head, Corina Fusu said the list should be published with the consent of the applicants.
In the end, the eight members of the commission attending the meeting voted in favor.
The candidates are:

It was also decided that every member of the commission will examine by next Wednesday the files of the applicants, which will be then discussed in a meeting.
The three posts were vacated by Camelia Albu, Valeriu Soltan, and Ruslan Plesca as their terms in office expired. They cannot run for a new term. The applications could be submitted during January 7 – March 12, 2011.
The Broadcasting Coordination Council is composed of nine members who are designated by the legislative body for a period of six years.
