The National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) will convene on Wednesday, November 2, to examine as a matter of urgency operators’ requests and to adjust the regulated prices of electricity supplied to end users. The meeting is to start at 5pm, IPN reports.
The measure was taken in connection with the energy crisis experienced by Moldova. For November, the contract for the supply of electricity with MGRES (Kuchurgan power plant) wasn’t signed. SA Energocom will have to purchase electrical energy from Romania at European market prices to cover the shortage, the Agency said in a press release.
For Tuesday, 5 530 MWh of power was bought from OPCOM (Romanian electricity market operator) but Moldova will have a shortage of electrical energy outside contracts of about 4 070 MWh.
