The National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) will be able to adjust the electricity supply prices as a matter of urgency, as the Commission for Exceptional Situations decreed, IPN reports.

The electricity charge will be reviewed when the purchase prices of electricity are modified, in case of fluctuations of the exchange rate of the national currency and the adoption of the normative documents that have an impact on the supply costs. These are objective factors leading to the necessity of reducing or increasing the regulated revenue of suppliers by more than 1%.

The last time the electricity charges were adjusted at the beginning of November. Currently, residential clients in central and southern Moldova, who are powered by Premier Energy, pay 4.77 lei/kWh of power, while those in the northern districts, who are served by Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord, pay 4.81 lei/kWh.
