The harsh statements and blames between the representatives of the Christian-Democratic Popular Party (PPCD) and of the Liberal Democratic party (PLDM) started on the eve, have developed on Friday on the Parliament’s floor. The fight was joined by the leader of the Democratic Party, Dumitru Diacov, on February 29, Info-Prim Neo reports. The PLDM leader, Vlad Filat, has recommended the PPCD leaders not to place, on the shoulders of his party, the grave inner problems the Christian Democrats have. “What is happening within the PPCD is the result of the collusion with the PCRM (Communists,) and people have ever kept leaving,” Filat said. He has referred to more PPCD former members who either left or were expelled from the party. „The PPCD leaders, through the denigrating actions they promote, try to drive away the public’s attention from their own problems with the law-enforcing bodies,” the PLDM leader underlined. He has mentioned the disappearance of the deputy president of the party, Vlad Cubreacov, and more privatisation cases he styled as illicit. According to Filat, the PPCD’s declaration of Thursday perfectly matches the policy of President Vladimir Voronin to destroy, through the Intelligence Service and other structures, the democratic parties and the free press. He has asked the mentioned structures to verify „whether it is true that the real corruption occurred when the Sturza cabinet was dismissed, when the vote of April 4, 2005, was masterminded.” The MP has assured neither the dirty attacks, nor the attempts to intimidate him will stop the Liberal-Democrats in their way. In his turn, the PPCD leader and deputy speaker, Iurie Rosca, has said the activity of “the group” led by Filat represents a danger for Moldova’s public life. The momentum and speed with which he started to corrupt the local councillors of other parties and to attract them into his formation has no precedent, says the deputy speaker. „What relevance will the runaways from other political parties who joined Filat’s project have?” he asked. Rosca has demanded the inquest bodies and the Security and Information Service to establish and report to what degree the PLDM’s actions correspond to the Law on parties and funding. Either the Democratic Party leader has stated that Vladimir Filat “tried to introduce an unacceptable practice into the Moldovan politics.” Dumitru Diacov says he holds evidence more people who became PLDM members, after having left his party, received money from Filat. The scandal unleashed at the sitting of Thursday, February 28, when a deputy president of the PPCD accused Filat and the PLDM of luring local councillors from other formations by corruption. Stefan Secareanu stated the PLDM, immediately after the local elections of June 2007, had started to attract local councillors of other parties to its side, motivating them with money. The PPCD deputy president asked the law-enforcing bodies to consider the situation. Filat rejected Secareanu’s claims, bringing about accusations addressed to the PPCD, in his turn.
