The National Museum of Arts of Moldova invites to the events dedicated to the 13th European Night of Museums in the evening of May 20. The events start at 6pm and will end at midnight. The visitors will be able to learn about the national cultural heritage and to take part in different cultural-educational activities such as art exhibitions, performances of music, dancing classes and drawing workshops, IPN reports, quoting the Museum.
At 6pm, one can visit the permanent exhibition of universal art, the temporary exhibition “International Biennial Painting Exhibition Chisinau 2017”, “Mater Materia” and the National Arts Symposium Lepsa 2016.
Students of the National Music Lyceum “S. Rachmaninoff”, of the Center of Excellence in Artistic Education “Stefan Neaga” and of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts will give performances of classical music between 6:30 pm and 11:30pm.
Singer Pasa Parfeni will give a concert in the big hall of theMuseum between 7pm and 7:20 pm. Starting at the same hour, Alexandru Cioroi will hold a recital of classical music at cembalo in the hall with balcony. This will be followed by a performance by the Select Strings Quartet starting at 8pm. At 9pm, the big hall will host the recital of the ensemble of accordion players Concertino. The program will continue with a concert by the quartet Century, starting at 10pm. At the same hour, the historic dances club KRIT will present a masterclass in the Museum’s big hall.
The events at the National Museum of Arts will be accompanied by games for children and drawing workshops.
Access to the European Night of Museums is free of charge.
The event was initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Communication of France in 2005. Now it is supported by the Council of Europe, UNESCO and the International Council of Museums. Thirty countries joined this initiative in time.
