The administration of Chisinau municipality will make the rules of building attic-like apartments stricter. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said Chisinau needs such a project as the construction of attic-like apartments, but there should be no exaggerations, IPN reports.

According to the mayor, the problems concerning the attic-like apartments appear because some of the companies announce they will build one story, but then erect one and a half or two stories. The legislation on the building of such apartments turned out to be too mild.

Dorin Chirtoaca said the construction of attic-like apartments with several stories and on corbels will not be allowed. There will be adopted stricter rules as regards construction, especially in the historical center of the city. The height will be restricted and the occupation level will be limited to maximum 80% of the area.

The mayor also said that the density of constructions will be regulated and the number of parking lots will be increased. There will be designed the coloristic range and harsh colors will not be allowed. The construction of annexes to the exiting buildings will be banned.
