Chisinau local authorities have started to reconnect kindergartens to the hot water network, though this event was to begin in October, as promised by the municipality. Head of the Education, Science, Youth and Sports Division Tatiana Nagnibeda told the operative City Hall session, held on Monday, February 5, that together with the heat supplier “Termocom” JSC it has been established that the kindergartens will be gradually reconnected depending on the technical state of the water pipes. Nagnibeda has mentioned that currently, there are 13 kindergartens in the Centre sector and one in the Ciocana sector connected. Overall, there are 150 kindergartens in Chisinau that have been lacking centralised hot water supplies for over 10 years. The cessation has damaged in time the water pipes, and thus their restoration would now require considerable financial resources. Earlier, municipal authorities estimated the reconnection of all kindergartens at 12 million lei, for the pipes’ restoration alone. The manager of “Termocom” JSC has previously stated that the enterprise would implement the necessary works, after which it would forward for approval to the municipal Council the estimate expenses needed to cover the provided services from the municipal budget. The reconnection of kindergartens to the centralised hot water network is part of the municipality’s plan regarding the reconnection of all consumers to hot water networks.
