The City Hall assures the Chisinau residents that it will prepare the housing sector for the heating season in reasonable time. So far the heat distribution networks have been prepared at a 61 percent rate. The deputy head of the Housing General Department, Simion Roman, informed that the preparations for the cold season also include roof renovation, repairs of windows and front doors of the apartment houses. At the same time, fittings in plumbing and piping systems are being sealed, and the heat distribution networks are being provided with new heat insulation coating. The municipal housing sector (3504 apartment houses) is administrated by 23 municipal enterprises (IMGFL). The Associations of Homeowners (APLP) manages 613 blocks of flats; Condo Associations (AC) – 9 blocks; and the Housing Equity Partnerships (CCL) – 331 blocks. In addition, there are 234 departmental houses. Out of the total of 4684 apartment houses in Chisinau, 2842 are connected to the centralised heat systems. 1643 blocks are provided with hot water. Out of the total number of blocks administrated by IMGFL, 91 percent are provided with centralised hot water; by APLP – 51percent; CCL - 27 percent; and departmental houses – 23 percent.
