The municipal authorities are ready to assist the police in staging awareness raising campaigns centering on road safety in schools and kindergartens, mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban announced.

As to street lighting, the mayor said this is turned on and off according to the ordinary regulations, taking into account the current norms and the annual program of the company “Lumteh”.  “Deviations by an hour from the set timetable were witnessed only at the beginning of October 2022 during a week, following the decision taken by the Commission for Exceptional Situations. The Chisinau City Hall made all the efforts to return to the ordinary lighting regime so as to increase the citizens’ safety,” stated Ion Ceban.

The municipality also insists taking radical decisions at the central level with regard to the drivers and pedestrians who do not obey the traffic rules.
