The municipal authorities of Chisinau will identify a place for storing used tires. Business entities will cover the costs for transporting tires to the storage place, but will not have to pay the storage tax, IPN reports.

Acting mayor general of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu instructed the district heads to conduct inspections in districts and monitor the places where the tires are left by the roadside, especially near tire services. They should inform the business entities about the opportunity of taking tires to the place that will be identified the coming days. When a sufficient quantity of tires is collected, these will be taken away.

Green Areas Association director Sergei Carp said works to clean the area around the Albișoara lake were recently carried out and two trailers of used tires were taken to the recycling platform situated near the municipal waste dump.

Under the Contravention Code, the fine for not taking tires away is of at most 9,000 lei for business entities.
