The municipality of Chisinau continues to demand to set up an oxygen station at the COVID Department at Moldexpo, even if the Ministry of Health earlier said that this is techncially impsosible. The subject was raised again in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.
Boris Gîlca, head of the General Medical and Social Assistance Division, said the number of cases of COVID-19 has grown. “We are tired of this Ping-Pong. We cannot understand why the available oxygen station cannot be used and why it hasn’t been installed at Moldexpo. I hope we will find solutions and will be able to set up an oxygen station in the nearest future so as to secure, prepare and ensure pandemic control at the COVID Department at Moldexpo,” stated Boris Gîlca.
Approaches are also made to open a municipal laboratory for doing PCR tests. A letter to this effect was sent to the Ministry of Health.
Boris Gîlca also said that the municipality is on yellow alert. The municipal public health commission is to come together the next few days to take a relevant decision as the current state of public health emergency expires on January 15. Vaccination remains a priority. The municipality’s objective is to reach a vaccination rate of 70% by end-March.
