A Municipal Child Protection Strategy 2020-2024/2025 that is based on a child-parent-authorities approach was worked out for the first time.

Contacted by IPN for details, Lucia Caciuc, acting head of the Municipal Children’s Rights Protection Division, said the strategy will be soon published on the Chisinau City Hall’s website for public discussions and the action plan will be drafted later. The strategy and plan will be submitted to the Municipal Council for approval. It is expected that the process will last by end-March.

The intention is to create a general view on the developments and to combine the efforts of the City Hall’s subdivisions. ”There are a number of aspects that can and should be improved and I hope the strategy will help us see things in the long run,” stated Lucia Caciuc.

The strategy was drafted with assistance from UNICEF Moldova.
