The Bâc riverbed near the agricultural market and the construction materials market of the capital has been turned into a public toilet. Construction waste, bags, cases are thrown all over the area. As it is not known who does all this, the one to be sanctioned is the local public authority. Statements in this regard were made by Iuliana Cantaragiu, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, during a work meeting at the City Hall, IPN reports.
Iuliana Cantaragiu has mentioned that every year the ecological situation of the Bâc river worsens and all the filth comes from the trade in the area. Also, the parking for vehicles carrying construction materials has been extended. In the vicinity, unauthorized works have been carried out, causing the storage of construction waste.
"Who did it is not known. You have no one to hold accountable but the public authorities,” contended the Secretary of State. A solution, in her opinion, would be the installation of video cameras in the area, identification and sanctioning of perpetrators. Or the market could be relocated to another area.
The Secretary of State has also said that the local public authorities will take the necessary measures. In a month an inventory will be drawn up, and consequently sanctions will be applied, according to the ecological legislation.
