The municipality has plans to divide the working program of employees from the education process in the capital city so as to reduce traffic jams and crowdedness in public transport, IPN reports.
“We come with an initiative to separate the beginning and ending hours of the working program and the program of study so as to ensure the gradual use of the road network and to ease traffic at the morning, afternoon and evening rush hour,” mayor Ion Ceban stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services.
To avoid traffic jams, the municipality purchased 80 units of transport. Five new buses will be put on route No. 9 tomorrow, September 14. The mayor said that when the necessary number of public units of transport is ensured, restrictions will be imposed downtown on private transport.
Strips intended for public transport were created in a number of areas of Chisinau and this practice will be extended all over the city. According to Ion Ceban, this way the people will also be motivated to opt for buses and trolleybuses.
The mayor also said that they are cooperating with the police so as to review the Road Traffic Regulations and formulate proposals to amend them for limiting stopping in intersections in the rush hour.
