Discarding or depositing waste of any kind in public or private spaces in Chișinău will be considered a contravention. Likewise, dining facilities, shops and buildings that discard waste and water into the streets will be sanctioned. The provisions are part of the Regulation on the functioning and organization of the public waste management service of Chișinău, which has been submitted for public appraisal, IPN reports.

For one month, the General Residential Directorate will expect proposals to the projects. The Regulation establishes a legal framework for the waste management service, defining the methods and requirements for securing adequate waste management, along with performance indicators, technical requirements, the provider - client relationship, fee calculation, invoicing, and payment guidelines.

The project covers a series of waste management activities like sweeping, washing, sprinkling, and maintenance of public access paths. Other activities included are cleaning and transport of snow from public access paths. Furthermore, the provisions mention pre-collection, collection, and transportation of municipal waste, including toxic waste, except those from special transportation classes. Additional activities deal with waste sorting, processing, composting vegetal waste, establishing and administrating waste depositing areas, disinfection, pest and rodent control, etc.

Access to the service, for both individuals and legal entities, will be offered through a services contract between signed by the provider and the beneficiary. Beneficiaries will have undiscriminated access to public information on service quality indicators, to fee plans, and contractual clauses.
