Municipal subdivisions obliged to report on how CMC decisions are implemented
The secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), by one of the next meetings, is to prepare a report on the implementation of the decisions taken by the Council in the current composition. A related request was made by Christian-Democrat councilor Alexandru Corduneanu in the last meeting of the Council. The councilman also proposed creating a commission for monitoring how the CMC decisions are implemented, which should include representatives of all the Council’s factions, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The main duty of the CMC is to adopt decisions, but we do not have an instrument for examining the professional quality of the reached decisions. Many of the draft decisions are approved without assessing their social and economic impact and without consulting those interested,” said the councilor.
On the other hand, unaffiliated councilor Oleg Cernei considers that by his request Alexandru Corduneanu pursues an electoral goal. “It is a kind of electoral parade. It is obvious that the election campaign has started,” he said.
The Communist councilors stated it is the Council’s executive that is mainly responsible for the non-implementation of decisions.
Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said he will instruct all the municipal subdivisions to systematize the information about the implementation of the CMC decisions and present it by March 1. The deputy mayors, for their part, will provide information about the work of the relevant commissions. The final report will be rendered in a meeting of the Council.
