Municipal services start removing fallen tress in Vadul lui Voda recreational area
Teams of the Green Spaces Administration Association started to remove the tress that fell in the recreational area in Vadul lui Voda town. The trees than fell on the roadway will be the first to be transported as they block access to the recreational area, the Association’s head Eliferie Haruta said at Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall.
Anatol Croitor, the deputy head of the Emergencies Department, said that though the water recedes, the roads to Vadul lui Voda remain closed for traffic. Seventy-seven holiday resorts of the 86 have been inundated. “The recreational area will be opened only after the necessary repair works are carried out and the territory is disinfected,” Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said. The Mayor of Vadul lui Voda Iurie Onofriiciuc said that the damage caused by floods in the area have not been assessed yet.
In another development, Eliferie Haruta said that the playing grounds on the beaches near the Chisinau lakes “La Izvor”, “Valea Trandafirilor” and the pond in Rascani district will be set up this week. He also said that the playing ground near the lake “La Izvor” will be enclosed with stump fencing because the road passes nearby and the children run the risk of being hit by cars.
On May 23, the Chisinau Municipal Council allocated 1.29 million lei for fitting out the three recreational areas of Chisinau.
