The recreational areas in Chisinau municipality are not ready for the warm season. Livia Mazur, hygienist at the Chisinau Public Health Center, has told IPN that the municipality this year hasn’t authorized works to lay out recreational places intended for the inhabitants of Chisinau.
The ponds are polluted with solid household waste. The territories are not cleaned and the sand is not replaced. Therefore, infectious, skin or parasitic diseases can be caught.
The beaches are not supplied with drinking water installations for shower cubicles, while the cubicles are damaged and are in need of renovation.
The ponds are not cleared of mud, while the pluvial drainage channels are blocked.
The hygienist said the NON 01 vibrio cholera, larger than allowed quantities of lacto-positive colibacteria, enterococci and coliphages are detected in ponds and sand.
To avoid unpleasant situations, the population is urged to avoid swimming and to sunbathe in protected areas.
