Municipal police will fine people and companies that have not cleared pavements of snow and ice

As from January 10, the police will apply fines and start administrative cases against the individuals and legal entities of the municipality of Chisinau that have not cleared the pavements in front of the buildings where they live or work of snow and ice, Info-Prim Neo reports. The decision was made at a meeting called by Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca to discuss the removal of snow in Chisinau and the required subsequent measures. The mayor ordered to continue the cleaning of secondary streets and access roads to apartment buildings. The district head’s offices and the Traffic Police were asked to inform the relevant municipal divisions about the places with difficult access so that they take the necessary measures. The services in charge sought support from the Traffic Police in identifying the owners of illegally parked cars that block the access and make the movement of snow removing machines difficult. The snow removal activities in the municipality should be completed by Sunday. All the main and secondary streets and the access roads to the blocks of flats must be cleaned by then. The transportation of snow from intersections and roadsides will start afterwards. According to the latest reports presented by the General Division for Transport and Communication Ways, the public transport in Chisinau municipality works as usual. A number of 284 trolleybuses, 104 buses and 1,600 minibuses adapted to the weather conditions transport passengers at present.
