Municipal police seek more inspectors for minors
The General Police Commissariat of the municipality of Chisinau demands that the number of inspectors dealing with minors’ problems and of traffic patrols be increased.
At Chisinau City Hall’s meeting, deputy commissioner of police Iacob Gumenita proposed considering the possibility of raising the number of inspectors on minor’s problems when planning the municipal budget for 2008. Gumenita argued that one police officer now has to deal with about 3,000 minors.
The deputy commissioner also demanded more traffic patrols because the number of road accidents in Chisinau is on the rise.
According to the head of the municipal police, there are over 140,000 minors in the municipality of Chisinau that are supervised by 47 inspectors.
